Mr. Smith has been a consultant to Aquamarine Capital Management since August 2009.
Previous to Aquamarine Capital, Mr. Smith worked in the chemical industry in various production and sales management positions for multinational corporations. In 1984 Mr. Smith joined Aquamarine Chemicals in London, where he is currently the director of finance and administration.
Education
He graduated with honours and a degree in Chemistry, from The University of Birmingham, UK in 1974.
In 1976 he received a Masters degree in polymer science research.

Mr. Smith lives in London. His hobbies include hill walking and history reading.
